Julia Sifferlen is a multimedia content creator with a passion for telling people’s stories and solving the problems they didn't even know they had. She has vast professional experience in production, videography, digital marketing, copywriting, journalism, and community outreach that allows her to create compelling and entertaining works for a wide range of audiences. Julia has interned and worked at various companies throughout Indianapolis, New York City, and Chicago.

Currently, she lives in Chicago, IL where she is completing her Masters of Science in Journalism at Northwestern University and specializing in Media Innovation and Content Strategy with a merit scholarship. This specific degree allows her to combine her knowledge and experience in production and journalism with her strategic, analytical side. So far, she has built an online tool with engineering students, performed user research for the Washington Post, consulted Anthropocene Magazine using insights from Google Analytics/email newsletter analytics, pitched countless products and innovations, and conducted market research for a high-end jeweler. She will spend her spring quarter interning in San Francisco at a tech startup, BestReviews, in a product management role and taking classes before graduating in June 2022!
Recently, Julia has worked as a Content Marketing Specialist at a creative agency where she took the lead on client projects, curating an entire multimedia web series, running and strategizing social media, and assisting on professional promotional shoots. She also worked part time as a Marketing + Communications Specialist where she wrote copy for multiple websites, built pitch decks, and led influencer marketing campaigns. Julia’s most recent internship was as a Newsroom Intern for NBC Sports Chicago. She has also been a General Production Intern for the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in NYC and for WFYI in Indianapolis.
Julia had a wide range of leadership experience from her time at DePauw University. Her television professor has described her saying, “Julia is a tireless worker who has high goals and is willing to work to reach them. Julia is just one of those incredible students who could pursue any career she wants to explore; she’s that capable.” She served as the General Manager of D3TV- the campus’ television station. In this position, she led the 30-person Board of Directors entirely remote and determined the strategy of the station. In this time, she launched a guest speaker series and Analytics department. She has also worked as the News Director and for production and marketing departments at D3TV. In her time at D3TV, she produced the 3 most highly viewed videos on D3TV’s Facebook page. She also works as a Coquillette Peer Consultant at the campus’ career development center: The Hubbard Center. In this role, she served as a paraprofessional advisor to fellow students regarding internships, resumes, and professional development.
Julia is originally from Zionsville, Indiana and is the oldest of six kids. She loves her little siblings, her dog, music, trying new food, videography, and late night television.
